The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) successfully organized a Summer Internship Program in partnership with the School of Mathematics, Statistics, and Physics at Newcastle University, UK.

As part of this program, five undergraduate students from Newcastle University visited IIT Kanpur from March 31 to April 18, 2025. During their stay, the students worked on short academic projects and also participated in cultural activities, giving them a chance to experience the vibrant campus life at IIT Kanpur.

The program was coordinated by Prof. Soumyabrata Chakrabarty from the Department of Space, Planetary, and Astronomical Sciences & Engineering, along with Prof. Arnab Hazra and Prof. Dootika Vats from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.

This collaborative initiative is an important step in strengthening international academic relationships and promoting cross-cultural learning among students.
