This is one of the leadership roles at the Just Transition Research Centre, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Kanpur. The role involves writing research proposals, securing research grants, guiding team members in conducting high-quality research, producing top-tier reports, and managing a team of researchers. The role also requires collaboration with other verticals to advance the goals of the Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning and execution of projects, fieldwork, travel to field sites, and interacting with stakeholders.
Writing project reports, proposals, and academic publications.
Handling quantitative / qualitative data.
Organizing workshops with stakeholders.
Managing research teams and providing mentorship / guidance to junior researchers.
Other tasks assigned by the reporting authority.

Selection Criteria
Education	Master’s Degree in climate science and policy. One publication in just transition
Experience	3+ years’ experience in just transition research, event management, and strategic communication, and stakeholder engagement.
Skills and Competencies	Expertise in primary and secondary data collection and analysis. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a variety of stakeholders. Research and project proposal writing. Proficiency in using technology and data analytics tools in research – i.e., statistical analysis with SPSS / Python / R; QGIS; data scrapping; qualitative analysis using MAXQDA / ATLAS.ti / NVivo / Dedoose. Hands on experience in designing data visualization tools like Canva, Microsoft Power Bi / Datawrapper / Flourish
