Role: PROJECT SCIENTIST

Role Description
This is one of the research roles at the Just Transition Research Centre, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Kanpur. The role involves writing research papers and reports. It also requires collaboration with other verticals to advance the goals of the Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Writing project reports and academic papers.
- Designing short-term and long-term courses.
- Handling quantitative/qualitative data.
- Providing guidance to junior researchers and project teams.
- Other tasks assigned by the reporting authority.

Selection Criteria
|
|
Education
|
- Ph.D. / Master’s Degree + 3 years’ relevant experience in climate and energy policy, environmental/energy economics, environmental sociology, environmental studies or allied subjects.
|
|
Experience
|
- 3+ years of experience in climate and energy policy or related fields.
|
|
Skills and Competencies
|
- Expertise in primary and secondary data collection and analysis.
- Strong written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent academic and proposal writing skills.
- Experience and proficiency in using technology and data analytics tools in research – i.e., KOBO; ArcGIS / QGIS; Python; SPSS or other relevant software.
