INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY KANPUR

Online International Symposium on Recent Trends in Differential Equations:

Theory, Computation & Application
(March 19-22, 2021)

Differential Equations (DEs) provide a qualitative and quantitative description for many central models in physical, biological, and social sciences. Several developments in mathematical theory, modelling and simulation of scientific and engineering phenomena, numerical analysis etc., is deeply intertwined with the progress in the area of differential equations. Over the past several years there has been a tremendous growth on theoretical, computational and application fronts of differential equations. This event aims at helping the researchers in the field to keep abreast with the current trends on these various aspects to the differential equations. In order to achieve such a goal, several online talks by some of the internationally renowned experts in the area under the following themes have been planned:

a)  Recent Trends in Numerical Method for PDEs and Applications
b)
Recent Trends in Non Local PDEs and Applications
c)
Elliptic PDE and related topics
d)
Recent Advances in Mathematical Biology

Mode of the Symposium

The symposium will be held in Online mode via ZOOM. The link will be sent to the selected participants through email. All interested in participating in the event may please register through the online link provided below.

These talks are arranged under the following four symposia:

1.)  Symposium on  Recent Trends in Numerical Method for PDEs and Applications

       Date: Mar 19, 2021, Time: 3:00 PM - 6:30 PM (IST)

Mathematical models of real life problems often turn out the coupled set of differential equations with complex geometries which may be time varying. Largely these models are not amenable to rigours mathematical methods without several simplifications and assumptions. The quest for solving these problems and the advent of computers has led to the emergence of several numerical methods to solve these problems in an approximate setting. With the ever raising needs to tackle these real life complex mathematical models in real time and the rapid growth in the computational technology there has been continuous developments in the computational strategies, paradigms and methodologies to solve these problems. This symposium will help the participants to listen to some the leading experts in the area lecturing on the latest developments on the numerical and application fronts of differential equations:
